‘I’m Going to…’ – New Year’s Resolutions for Travelling in 2017

The turn of the new year is the perfect time for reflection and goal setting. Whether you achieved the resolutions that you set for New Year 2016 or not, decide on some travel related goals for 2017 now and you’ll be sure to achieve them. After all, what better incentive is there than a holiday?

Get fit and healthy in Greece

Have you set a new year’s resolution to get fit and healthy in 2017? Get a head start by jetting off on a holiday to Greece, where you can try out the Mediterranean diet. Mediterranean meals are typically served with lots of fresh vegetables which are cooked in lashings of olive oil or served raw in salad.

Spend the summer nights exploring Greece by foot and recharge with a healthy breakfast in the morning. Greece is part of our summer offering only, but knowing that you can combine eating a Mediterranean diet, relaxing in the Greek sunshine and getting plenty of exercise in summer is the ideal form of inspiration at the start of the year for your 2017 diet plan.

Learn something new in Dubrovnik

Learn more about the world in 2017 by treating yourself to a stay in Dubrovnik. Visit this beautiful city and walk the surrounding city walls to see the best views of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city walls have been standing since as early as the 8th century. They were heavily fortified during the 15th and 16th centuries and have managed to withstand an earthquake in 1667 and many attacks over the centuries. Within these walls, you can explore Dubrovnik’s maritime museum, in the St. John Fortress, and learn about the city’s seafaring successes.

Try new foods in Bulgaria

Expand your foodie knowledge this New Year with a holiday to Bulgaria. There you can try classic Bulgarian dishes such as banitsa. Sweet fillings, like apples or dates, are also used on special occasions like New Year’s Eve, so you can celebrate a happy new year the Bulgarian way!

Another Bulgarian favourite which is eaten on hot, sunny days is a chilled soup called tarator. Consisting of cucumber, yogurt and dill and served ice cold, tarator is a refreshing meal during the summertime. Whatever time of year you visit, you’ll be able to fulfil your new year’s resolution in Bulgaria.

There are a whole host of activities to get involved in, from exploring Mayan ruins at Chichén Itzá to swimming with dolphins in Cancun.
